Chinese Language Curriculum focuses on developing students ‘language skills such as reading, writing, listening, speaking and ability of thinking, so as to increase students’ interest in learning Chinese and help them achieve self-learning ability for lifelong learning.
Through a diverse teaching model, the Chinese Language Curriculum of our school inspires students’ thinking, cultivates morality, enhances understanding of Chinese culture and strengthens a sense of social responsibility and belonging to the nation.
At the same time, we also emphasize appreciation of novels and dramas, literary creation, and performance of works. We hope that in addition to enhancing students’ self-confidence, creative thinking, language ability and ability of expression, students will also be trained to appreciate novels and literature and become a well-rounded person.
The primary goal of our English curriculum design is ‘Be an active learner; be a joyful learner’ which aims at increasing students’ incentive and confidence in English learning by encouraging them to use their e-learning devices actively and creating joyful English learning experiences through various English activities and performances.
The use of English Ambassador Committee, festival celebrations, study tour, exchange programmes, musicals and other hands on activities will provide students with the opportunity to actively explore the fun in learning English language as well as develop their competence in the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Through the implementation of English as cross-disciplinary language, we involve all subject teachers to support the development of an English-rich environment in school by utilizing their skills and knowledge. Ultimately, students can experience not only the joy of learning English, but also develop the skills of collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and self-learning.

Liberal Studies provides opportunities for students to explore issues relevant to the human condition in a wide range of contexts. It enables students to understand the contemporary world and its pluralistic nature. It also enables students to make connections among different disciplines, examine issues from a variety of perspectives, and construct relative knowledge to thrive in today’s world, helping students develop independent learning capabilities and cross-curricular thinking.
We apply diverse learning methods in Liberal Studies. Students can apply independent thinking, and use different perspectives in making decisions and become informed and responsible citizens.
In order to support our non-Chinese speaking students to integrate into Chinese learning, our school provides additional support for them. The Chinese language programme for NCS students is designed according to the “Second Language Learning Framework Assessment Tool”, to satisfy their language-learning needs.
Both junior form and senior form students are divided into different learning groups according to their language abilities. Teachers would also produce school-based materials for students of different abilities, thereby catering for learner diversities. In addition, the school also provides after-school support, recruits additional teachers and teaching assistants to support non-Chinese speaking students in learning Chinese.
