Mathematics

Overview

Our objective is to develop a wide coverage of capabilities of students under the “ACTIVE Education” framework. They include:

  • the ability to conceptualize, inquire, reason and communicate mathematically, and to use mathematics to formulate and solve problems in daily life as well as in mathematical contexts;
  • the ability to manipulate numbers, symbols and other mathematical objects;
  • the number sense, symbol sense, spatial sense and a sense of measurement as well as the appreciation of structures and patterns; and
  • a positive attitude towards mathematics and the appreciation of the aesthetic nature and cultural aspect of mathematics.
We actively promotes BYOD e-learning to enhance students’ learning convenience in Mathematics , which strengthen the promotion of students’ deep learning and collaborative learning, and through real-time learning feedback, through different electronic tools to help teachers in Teaching activity design. 
 
We organize STEM Learning Fair every year to encourage students to make good use of mathematical knowledge and deep learning elements. The school regularly organizes different mathematics and interdisciplinary activities to strengthen students’ learning experience of using mathematics in daily life. Our students who participated have achieved great results in both local and international competitions.
