The 9th National Youth Drone Competition (Hong Kong Division) and 2025 Hong Kong Primary and Secondary School Drone Competition – Blue Bird Cup

Our students achieved outstanding results in the 9th National Youth Drone Competition (Hong Kong Division) and the 2025 Hong Kong Primary and Secondary School Drone Competition – Blue Bird Cup.

Our students participated in three events: the Individual Flight Restricted Race, the Team Relay Restricted Race, and the Individual Flight Freestyle Competition. In these events, students were required to operate various types of drones to complete obstacle courses. The Team Relay Restricted Race, in particular, emphasized teamwork and adaptability under changing conditions.

Competing against talented participants from other schools in Hong Kong, our students delivered impressive performances. 3D Liu Kin Hei won second runner-up in the Individual Flight Freestyle Competition, while 3E Hung Tsz Yeung received a third-class award. Additionally, 2E Fu Cheuk Yin, 4A Chan Wai Chung, 4A Tang Kai Lok Jophy, and 4C Kong Pak Hey  Moses secured second runner-up in the Team Relay Restricted Race.

We look forward to seeing them continue to excel in the field of drones and contribute to the advancement of drones and STEAM education in the future.

Inter-school Drone Programming Rescue Challenge

Our students achieved outstanding results in the Inter-school Drone Programming Rescue Challenge organized by 10Education.

The competition focused on programming for rescue missions as its main theme, providing students with a platform for technical exchange while fostering team spirit through collaboration with teammates during the event. The competition featured various challenges, including signaling with Morse code using lights, supply airdrop missions, rescue signal response through music, and precision landing challenges. These tasks tested students’ adaptability and teamwork skills.

Two teams from our school participated in the event, both of which received Excellence Awards. Below are the team member lists:

The Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2025

This year, our students participated in the “Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2025,” jointly organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and the Hong Kong Education Bureau. In the competition, our students showcased their creativity and scientific research skills, while also enhancing their scientific literacy through exchanges with judges and the public, fully reflecting the achievements of STEAM education.

5A students Chan Chun Yiu and Fung Ka Hei stood out with their exceptional performance, earning the Senior Division (Invention) Merit Award. Their dedicated attitude and innovative thinking enabled them to excel in the competition, bringing pride to our school. We take great pride in their accomplishments and look forward to seeing them achieve even greater breakthroughs in their scientific endeavors.

Other participating students also demonstrated outstanding teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Their effort and enthusiasm are highly commendable. The competition provided every student with valuable learning experiences, inspiring their passion for science and exploration.

Our school will continue to support students in participating in more scientific activities, providing them with a broad platform for growth and fostering their creativity and scientific literacy. We hope that our students will use this competition as a stepping stone to embrace challenges and strive for even greater scientific achievements!

Hong Kong Regional Award Ceremony of the National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition

Outstanding Achievements by Our Students in Innovation Competitions

Several teams from our school have achieved remarkable results in Hong Kong-wide innovation competitions and have been selected to represent Hong Kong, China, in various national STEAM competitions. During the summer vacation, the student teams traveled to Beijing, Hainan, and Guangxi to participate in competitions, where they achieved excellent results. Today, they attended the “Hong Kong Region Award Ceremony of the National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition” in recognition of their accomplishments.

Event: Soong Ching Ling Award For Children’s Invention

The 2024 Song Qingling Future Science Day and the 19th Song Qingling Youth Innovation Award Ceremony, jointly organized by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Song Qingling Foundation, was held in Beijing.

This event earnestly implemented the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, deeply reflecting General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourse on strengthening youth work and promoting scientific popularization. It aims to support the growth and development of young people. We hope that through this event, young friends can gain a deeper understanding of the world of science, experience its charm, and ignite their interest and passion for scientific inquiry, striving to learn scientific knowledge and reach new heights in technology. This will contribute to the country’s goal of achieving high-level technological self-reliance and building a strong global technological nation.

We are proud to announce that WONG CHUN TAI from Class 2C and TANG JUN YU from Class 2D were selected to represent Hong Kong in the secondary school division of the Innovation Award competition. Competing alongside outstanding students from across the country, they ultimately won a bronze award. This competition not only allowed them to learn the latest scientific knowledge but also enhanced their innovation abilities and practical skills. Through interactions with other talented participants, they gained valuable experiences and sparked their enthusiasm for scientific exploration. This experience not only boosted their confidence but also highlighted the importance of teamwork. We hope that they can transform the lessons learned from this competition into motivation for future research, continuing to bravely advance on the path of science and contribute to technological progress and social development.

Event:The 10th National Youth Science Popularization Innovation Experiment and Works Competition

The 10th National Youth Science Popularization Innovation Experiment and Works Competition, organized by the China Association for Science and Technology and jointly hosted by the China Science and Technology Museum and the China Association for Science and Technology Youth Science Center, concluded in Nanning, Guangxi, with support from the China Science and Technology Development Foundation.

This year’s competition focused on three main themes: “Smart, Safe, and Eco-friendly.” It emphasized the research application and popularization of cutting-edge scientific technologies and public health, assessing teenagers’ abilities to identify and solve problems through hands-on practice. The competition featured two categories: creative works and science experiments. The creative works category was divided into “Human-Machine Collaboration” for the university group and “Future Campus” for the secondary school group, while the science experiment category for the secondary school group was centered around the theme “Future Space Vehicle.”

We are proud to announce that Chan ChunYiu from Class 5A and Wong ChunTai from Class 2C were selected to represent Hong Kong in the “Future Space Vehicle” competition. Competing alongside outstanding students from across the nation, they ultimately won third prize. This experience not only allowed them to learn the latest technological knowledge but also enhanced their teamwork skills. Through interactions with other talented participants, they sparked innovative thinking and enjoyed the hands-on experience, further developing their problem-solving abilities.

Mobility Electric Vehicle Competition 2024

Two students from our school participated in the Mobility Electric Vehicle Competition, organized by DTSL, and achieved excellent results.

In the competition, students need to use a first-person perspective car-mounted camera to livestream real-time video to the front display of the driver, allowing the driver to control the vehicle from a simulated cockpit, providing participants with a hyper-realistic experience of driving a race car.

Two students from our school participated in the competition, CHUNG LAKE from Class 5D and KWAN TSZ HIN from Class 5E, with KWAN TSZ HIN winning the champion in the individual race. We hope that they can learn more about knowledge in electric vehicles, enhance their technological literacy, understand the importance of clean energy and environmental protection technology, cultivate environmental awareness, and participate to promote environmental protection and sustainable development practices.

2024 Asian Jump Rope Championship

We are proud to announce that our 2019 graduate, Yeung Tin Long, participated in the 2024 Asian Jump Rope Championship held in Kawasaki, Japan, this past July. As a dedicated member of the Hong Kong Rope Skipping Delegation Team, Tin Long achieved exceptional results in the competition. He competed in the mixed team event for ages 16 and above, earning the prestigious titles of Overall Champion, Interchange Rope Champion, and 1-Minute Speed Jump Champion, while also securing third place in both the Individual Rope Pair Freestyle and the Interchange Rope Trio Freestyle categories.
Since his graduation, Tin Long has continued to make significant contributions to our school. He has served for several years as a coach for our rope skipping team, generously sharing his expertise and giving back to his alma mater. His outstanding achievements not only honor his dedication but also bring pride to our school and inspire his fellow students. In recognition of his success, Mr. Ken Cheng, the Chief Coach of the Hong Kong Rope Skipping Club, has graciously sent a letter of commendation to our school. Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition

Our students participated in the Hong Kong Student Science Competition organized by the Hong Kong Youth Association and the Hong Kong Education Bureau on July 27 and 28. The competition was divided into two categories: “Biology and Chemistry” and “Physics and Engineering.” In addition to presenting their projects to the judges, students had the opportunity to engage with the public, raising awareness of science and technology in everyday life.

 

In this competition, our students actively participated, demonstrating excellent teamwork and showcasing their outstanding creativity and research abilities, gaining valuable learning experiences.

 

Among the participants, Li Lok-tung, Lam Chun-hin, and Wong Cheuk-wai won the Second Prize in the Junior Secondary Project Design category; Hu Huan-yi, Choi Chung-hin, and Hung Tsz-yang received the Most Potential Award in the Junior Secondary category; Deng Jun-yu, Wong Kam-to, and Wong Kam-tai were awarded the Sustainable Development Award and the Audience’s Favorite Award (Junior Secondary); while Chen Hao-hsin, Deng Cheng-che, Wang Xu-yao, and Feng Jia-xi won the Audience’s Favorite Award (Senior Secondary).

 

We are proud of our students’ excellent performance in the competition and look forward to them turning this experience into motivation for future learning. We hope more students will engage in scientific exploration, embrace innovation, and contribute to society. Our school will continue to support students in participating in various scientific activities, fostering their scientific literacy and practical skills.
